UF commencement ceremony continues rain or shine

University of Florida’s commencement ceremony in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium this weekend will continue as planned rain or shine. Weather experts predict a 25 percent chance of rain Friday, 10 percent Saturday and 15 percent Sunday between 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Covered seating in the stadium is limited. Friends and families of graduates planning to attend the 7 p.m. ceremony should be prepared with appropriate rain gear such as hats, ponchos or slickers. Rain ponchos will be provided to the graduates on the field. Umbrellas are NOT allowed inside the stadium.

Officials are closely monitoring weather conditions and will provide updates regarding the weather and its potential impact on the ceremony schedule as necessary on the UF homepage. If lightning is detected within 8 miles of the stadium or severe weather threatens, commencement will be temporarily delayed. Ongoing severe weather could result in cancellation of the ceremony.
