The Gator Engineering Outreach Program for outstanding K-12 students in STEM

The University of Florida College of Engineering and ExxonMobil have partnered in an outreach program that targets K-12 students who are interested in engineering or any STEM-related field of study. Known as the Gator Engineering Outreach Program, the pre-college initiative has exposed over 10,000 K-12 students over the last 12 years. Members of the press are cordially invited to come and experience a day of fun this Thursday, Oct 30th, with 4th and 5th grade students from Idylwild Elementary School as they engage in hands-on learning and a guided tour at the University of Florida College of Engineering.
WHAT: A STEM outreach program that targets K-12 students organized by UF College of Engineering and sponsored by ExxonMobil.
WHO: 4th and 5th grade students from Idylwild Elementary School
WHY: To inspire local students who are interested in engineering or any STEM-related field of study.
• Get a brief experience of UF campus life
• Explore the UF College of Engineering,
• Learn more about careers in engineering and technology,
• Meet selected faculty, staff, and students within the engineering departments,
• Be inspired and receive positive encouragement to pursue a career in a S.T.E.M related field.
