September 30, 2014

GAINESVILLE, Fla. ---The University of Florida’s Student Health Care Center will hold its third annual “Free Flu Shots” outreach event this Friday, Oct. 3.

Shots will be given between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the Infirmary Building Front Lawn, 280 Fletcher Drive. Free tank tops will be given to the first 1,000 vaccinated stduetns.

The center hopes to get as many students as possible vaccinated before the Thanksgiving break, with a goal of vaccinating 1,500 total on Friday. The event was postponed earlier because the vaccines were not available.

“We are happy to bring this event back after much success the last two years,” said Dr. Guy Nicolette, the center's interim director. “As always, our main goal is to help every student be as healthy as they can be so they can be their best academically.”
