Construction projects across UF support learning, research and campus life

From modernized academic facilities to improved underground utilities, construction projects across the University of Florida are creating new opportunities for students, faculty, researchers and the communities the university serves.

These investments will strengthen academic programs, expand learning and performance spaces, improve student housing and modernize the infrastructure that supports campus operations. While construction may temporarily affect traffic and pedestrian access, the projects are designed to meet UF’s evolving needs for years to come.

Here is a look at several major projects and where to find additional information.

College of Dentistry

A renovation and expansion of the Dental Science Building will add more than 100,000 square feet of teaching, research and patient care space. The project will modernize clinical and learning environments, update aging building systems and help the college serve future generations of dental professionals and patients.

Student housing

A new student housing project adjacent to Flavet Park will add residential space to campus, supporting students’ access to university resources and opportunities to build community. Additional project details will be shared as they are confirmed.

Underground utility improvements

Work is currently underway for phased utility upgrades along Stadium Road, Buckman Drive and Fletcher Drive will improve the capacity, reliability and long-term performance of campus infrastructure.

The work will require temporary traffic restrictions, including a one-lane westbound closure. Students, faculty, staff and visitors should allow extra travel time and follow posted detours.
