Proposed Change to Student Fees

The University of Florida is providing notice that the Board of Trustees, at its December 2025 meeting, will vote on a proposal to increase the athletic fee by $1.56 per credit hour and the health fee by $0.27 per credit hour. If approved, the increase will be effective beginning in Fall 2026.

The athletic fee increase reflects the Local Fee Committee’s recognition that collegiate athletics has evolved significantly over the past two decades. The increase will help sustain and enhance student engagement and experiences at athletic events; the current athletic fee of $1.90 has remained unchanged since 2000.

The health fee increase will support the hiring of additional staff within the Disability Resource Center, reducing wait times and strengthening accessibility services for students. The current health fee of $15.81 has remained unchanged since 2015.

The University of Florida Board of Trustees will review the proposed local fee changes during its next regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 4, 2025, at 8 a.m. Meeting details (date, time, location, and agenda) are available at trustees.ufl.edu

In accordance with state law and Florida Board of Governors’ regulation, this notice was sent by email to all enrolled students.
