UF’s Annual Fundraising Soars to $560 Million
The University of Florida had one of its best fundraising years ever during the 2025 fiscal year, bringing in more than $560 million in new gifts and commitments for UF’s second-highest annual fundraising total on record.
This is just the sixth time in university history that private contributions topped $500 million in a single year and represents the highest fundraising total since the conclusion of the record-setting $4.6 billion Go Greater campaign in 2022. 2025 was also a milestone year for The Gator Nation as it surpassed the 500,000-alumni mark and was recognized by The Princeton Review for having the No. 5 public university alumni network in the nation.
“The University of Florida has the world’s most loyal and generous donors, and they have shown us that they continue to have tremendous faith and confidence in the university.” —Mori Hosseini, UF Board of Trustees chair
“The University of Florida has the world’s most loyal and generous donors, and they have shown us that they continue to have tremendous faith and confidence in the university,” said Mori Hosseini, UF Board of Trustees chair. “They know UF is not slowing down, and they know their confidence and their investments are well placed.”
Maria Gutierrez Martin, Vice President for Advancement, added: “The university’s success is directly attributed to our visionary philanthropic partners who believe in UF’s mission and our ability to touch people’s lives in ways that truly make a difference. Clearly, our focus on real-world impact and our efforts to prepare future generations to be leaders in tomorrow’s workforce resonate with Florida residents and donors across the nation.”
Thousands of donors drove progress across a broad array of strategic priorities that reflect UF’s role as a national leader in discovery, scholarship and service — and as the state’s flagship, land-grant university with a commitment to improve the lives of all Florida citizens. This year’s record-breaking fundraising enabled UF to:
- Expand AI-powered innovation through HiPerGator — the nation’s fastest supercomputer in higher education — and position Florida as a global leader in AI adoption across disciplines, from health care to education to athletics.
- Improve health outcomes statewide through new investments in neuroscience, cancer research, gene therapy and the work of researchers at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology.
- Grow the state’s innovation economy with targeted investments in entrepreneurship, technology transfer and advanced manufacturing.
- Advance sustainable agriculture and food systems research, helping Florida farmers stay resilient in the face of environmental stresses and global supply chain disruptions.
- Enrich civic and classical education with the Hamilton School of Classical and Civic Education, which is deepening understanding of American, Western and Jewish thought, among numerous other traditions.
- Enhance interdisciplinary research that spans from Florida’s coasts to global ecosystems.
These philanthropic investments are not only advancing discovery and academic excellence in key university focus areas, they are accelerating UF’s ability to turn knowledge into action and impact — for Florida and across the global Gator Nation.
“The University of Florida is a powerful engine for workforce development, driving economic growth and advancing the entire state,” said Jon Pritchett, chair of the UF Foundation Executive Board. “At the same time, UF’s world-class faculty, students and researchers are delivering real solutions to some of society’s most pressing challenges. These fundraising numbers make clear that private donors, industry leaders and policymakers recognize the value of this work and understand how UF is not only fueling Florida’s economy — it’s improving the quality of life for all its citizens.”
