UF’s online degree programs achieve top rankings

For the third year in a row, U.S. News & World Report has ranked University of Florida as the top institution in the country to offer an online bachelor’s degree for veterans and active-duty service members. The rankings organization also named UF as No. 2 overall for its online degree programs and No. 1 for its online bachelor’s degree in business and master’s degree in special education

The top veterans ranking acknowledges UF’s tradition of support to U.S. military members, many of whom pursue their degrees from around the world. The ranking recognizes student retention and graduation rates, faculty credentials and UF’s certification for participation in the GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon program, which provide tuition and other benefits for veterans.

U.S. News also ranked several specific programs as among the nation’s best. The online bachelor’s degree in psychology ranked No. 3, the online master’s degree in education ranked No. 2 and the online master of business administration ranked No. 4. The online master’s degree in education has been ranked in one of the top two spots for the past decade.

”The success of UF’s online degree programs represents the university’s commitment to high-quality offerings across platforms, especially for our veterans and many other students who benefit from the flexibility and access available online,” said Joe Glover, UF’s interim provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “Our faculty and staff have established an impactful, fulfilling and supportive online educational environment that results in extraordinary student outcomes.”

UF Online is consistently recognized as among the top online bachelor’s degree programs in the country, offering 27 degree options from 10 colleges with several academic specializations. The program offers high quality, fully online baccalaureate degree programs at an affordable cost to traditional and non-traditional students.

The rankings represent the university's unparalleled trajectory and excellence. In August, Forbes ranked UF the No. 4 public university in the nation and in a separate ranking designated UF as a “New Ivy” institution for producing exceptional and highly employable graduates. Further, Forbes Advisor listed UF as the country’s best military-friendly online college of 2024. UF also topped a record $1.26 billion in research output in 2024, placing it among the country’s top research institutions.
