4,000 students to celebrate UF's Fall Commencement
More than 4,000 students are expected to graduate from the University of Florida this fall during the course of five commencement ceremonies held in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center Dec. 13-14.
The first ceremony, celebrating 245 doctoral graduates, will be held Friday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
Master’s and bachelor’s degree graduates for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Health and Human Performance, College of the Arts, College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Public Health and Health Professions, and College of Veterinary Medicine will begin their ceremony at 7 p.m. Dec. 13.
The master’s and bachelor’s degrees commencement ceremony for the College of Journalism and Communications and the Warrington College of Business will be held at 9 a.m. on Dec. 14.
Master’s and bachelor’s degree graduates for the College of Design, Construction and Planning and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will begin their ceremony at 2 p.m. on Dec. 14.
The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and College of Education master’s, specialist’s, and bachelor’s graduates will begin their ceremony at 7 p.m. on Dec. 14.
This fall’s graduates hail from six continents, representing 71 countries and 47 states.
Two NASA Medal of Honor for Exceptional Scientific Achievement recipients will speak at the commencement ceremonies. Dr. Rob Ferl, distinguished professor, inaugural director of the Astraeus Space Institute, and assistant vice President for UF Research, and Dr. Anna-Lisa Paul, professor and director of the University of Florida’s Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research and a plant molecular biologist.
