More than 3,100 graduates to celebrate summer commencement

More than 3,100 students are expected to graduate from UF this summer during the course of three commencement ceremonies held in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center Aug. 11-12.  

The first ceremony, celebrating 380 doctoral graduates, will be held Friday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. 

Bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s degree graduates for the College of the Arts; College of Design, Construction and Planning; College of Education; College of Health and Human Performance; Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering; College of Journalism and Communications; College of Medicine; College of Nursing; College of Pharmacy; College of Public Health and Health Professions; and College of Veterinary Medicine will begin their ceremony at 7 p.m. on Aug.11. 

The bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s degrees commencement ceremony for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Warrington College of Business will be held Saturday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m.

This summer’s graduates hail from six continents, representing 63 countries and 47 states.

The faculty speaker at all three ceremonies is Damon Woodard, professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the Florida Institute for National Security and Applied Artificial Intelligence Group in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.
