UF Online partners with the National Hockey League Players’ Association to support education for athletes

UF Online (the University of Florida’s top-ranked online bachelor’s degree program) has partnered with the National Hockey League Players’ Association, welcoming the National Hockey League Players’ Association team and its players to the Gator Nation to pursue their academic goals.

Ranked the No. 1 online bachelor’s degree program in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in 2023, UF Online continues to build relationships to increase access to the University of Florida. The program also recently partnered with the Major League Soccer Players Association, marking UF Online's second partnership with a professional athletic association this year. Bridging school and sport, it reflects the University of Florida’s commitment to welcoming learners of all ages and life stages as well as the NHLPA’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive player support and benefits.

“The University of Florida welcomes this partnership with the National Hockey League Players’ Association to support players and their families in their academic pursuits via UF Online,” said Evangeline Tsibris Cummings, senior assistant provost and director of UF Online. “We have an incredible legacy of support for top athletes at the University of Florida, and we look forward to seeing these new students thrive at the University of Florida in whatever major they wish to pursue.”
