Mary G. Parker named vice president for enrollment management and associate provost

Mary G. Parker, vice president of enrollment management at Kent State University, has been named the University of Florida's new vice president for enrollment management and associate provost.

Her first day is August 2.

"Dr. Parker's experience and leadership throughout the last 29 years shows her innovation and dedication to student-centered enrollment and retention strategies," said UF Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Joe Glover. "We gladly welcome her to the University of Florida."

She has served at Kent State University since 2019, and previously was the associate vice president of enrollment management at the University of Utah, starting in 2011. Dr. Parker earned her doctorate of education at the University of Pennsylvania where she completed her dissertation on the role of financial aid in promoting access to completion.

"The students we admit and enroll define who we are as an institution," Parker said. "And in today’s competitive environment we have to understand what students want, meet them where they are and provide a transformative experience.”

Parker's track record of recruiting and retaining students includes making sure their needs are met throughout their academic careers and being flexible to how students communicate and receive information.

She is excited to join UF at this pivotal moment as it strives to recruit the best and brightest, she said.
