Olga Weider appointed as university assistant vice president and controller

Olga Weider has been selected to serve the Finance and Accounting division as the first female Assistant Vice President and University Controller at the University of Florida.

Olga joined the University Finance and Accounting division in 2017 as an Assistant Controller with auxiliary accounting. Under her leadership, the auxiliary team expanded its services, acting in an advisory capacity to auxiliaries and service centers across campus on procedural and compliance matters and collaborating with units to ensure good stewardship of the University’s resources. She was promoted to a Senior Associate Controller, leading payroll and tax services, general accounting and financial reporting, and auxiliary accounting, providing core financial services to the University of Florida community.

Olga joined the team with extensive and wide-ranging previous experience as a Controller for Zoo Tampa, a 63-acre nonprofit zoo and conservation center for endangered wildlife. She is a Certified Internal Auditor, a Certified Public Accountant in Colorado, and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Prior to Zoo Tampa, Olga’s previous experience was in public accounting focused on governmental, not-for-profit, and healthcare areas. Olga graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and is currently pursuing an MBA through Louisiana State University, class of 2022.
