University of Florida dedicates new chemistry/chemical biology building Joseph Hernandez Hall
WHAT/WHY: University of Florida leadership, faculty, students and friends will gather to officially dedicate Joseph Hernandez Hall, UF’s new chemistry/chemical biology building. The 111,000-square-foot LEED-certified building will provide students a world-class educational experience in preparation for careers in health, the sciences and other fields.
WHO: Among the speakers at the event include:
- UF President Kent Fuchs
- UF Board of Trustees Vice Chair Mori Hosseini
- College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean David Richardson
- Joseph Hernandez, three-time UF alumnus and biotech entrepreneur whose gift of $10 million for an endowment helped name this transformational building
WHEN/WHERE: 9:45 a.m. for media check-in, event begins at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Joseph Hernandez Hall, located on the corner of Buckman Drive and University Avenue, UF campus, Gainesville, Fla. Tours of the building are available.
