GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A team of University of Florida researchers who played a significant role in proving the existence of the Higgs boson – the so-called God particle — is celebrating today to mark the announcement that the Nobel Prize in physics has been awarded to the two scientists who nearly 50 years ago theorized the Higgs’ existence.
