Fighting the red scourge

Ben Olaivar, a teaching lab specialist, uses a magnetic cleaner to remove ‘the scourge,’ red tubiflex worms that breed and attach themselves to the glass, from an aquarium in the basement of Carr Hall on Tuesday. The aquarium contains corals and a few fish and is mostly self sustaining. Special lights allow the algae in the coral to thrive.
