UF Researchers Investigate Phenomenon Of Seizure-Alert Dogs

GAINESVILLE — Determined to separate fact from fiction, University of Florida researchers are attempting to document the existence of seizure-alert dogs — animals that purportedly can detect seizures about to strike their owners and warn them of the coming trouble.

Horse Breaks Track Record After Recuperating From Respiratory Disease

GAINESVILLE—A 3-year-old Thoroughbred colt, diagnosed with chronic lung disease last August at the University of Florida, now breathes the sweet smell of victory after breaking a track record and winning more than $44,000 in races this year.

Cat Goes Home After Receiving Kidney Transplant At UF Veterinary Teaching Hospital

GAINESVILLE — Missy, a cat who only weeks ago was dying of kidney failure, returned home to Winter Springs today after a successful kidney transplant at the University of Florida Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.
