UF launches project to bridge the regeneration gap

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Researchers at the McKnight Brain Institute of the University of Florida have initiated a project to treat human brain and other diseases by plundering the secrets of regeneration from creatures with remarkable powers of self-renewal, such as salamanders, newts, starfish and flatworms.

Withdrawal of asthma inhaler will cost consumers, but new products work

UF researchers design folate-packed tomato

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Leafy greens and beans now aren’t the only foods that pack a punch of folate, the vitamin essential for a healthy start to pregnancy. Researchers at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences have developed a tomato with a full day’s worth of the nutrient in a single serving.
