UF study explores why boys are falling behind girls in school

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Thirty years ago, boys, not girls, were the high performers in schools. Today, test scores, grades and dropout rates show boys are achieving at levels far below girls, and an international study that includes the University of Florida is yielding insights that may explain why.

UF researcher: Florida voucher ruling not a threat to other states

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — School tuition vouchers are likely to survive in other states, despite the Florida Supreme Court’s decision last week to strike down the program for students attending failing schools, said a University of Florida economist.
