Loblolly pine research

John Davis, left, Gary Peter and Matias Kirst are among the University of Florida scientists working on a new research project to identify genes that regulate wood properties and disease-resistance traits in loblolly pine. Davis and Peter are associate professors in UF’s School of Forest Resources and Conservation and Kirst is an assistant professor in the school. The research is funded by a $6 million National Science Foundation grant.
