Ornamental pumpkins
HASTINGS, Fla. --- Chad Hutchinson, an associate professor with the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, displays an ornamental pumpkin at UF’s Hastings Demonstration Unit in St. Johns County – Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005. UF researchers have identified eight pumpkin varieties that grow well under Northeast Florida conditions, and could help local farmers cope with declining demand for potatoes, the area’s dominant crop, Hutchinson said.
