Illinois professor named dean of Design, Construction and Planning

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The head of the department of urban and regional planning at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has been named dean of the College of Design, Construction and Planning at the University of Florida, Provost Janie Fouke announced today.

UF names new assistant provost and admissions director

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Zina L. Evans, the associate director of admissions at the University of Maryland, has been named the University of Florida’s new assistant provost and director of admissions, Provost Janie Fouke announced today. Her appointment is effective Aug. 1.

George Hochmuth appointed UF/IFAS associate dean for research

Machen appoints curator and archivist as official UF historian

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida archivist Carl Van Ness has been named the university’s official historian, UF President Bernie Machen announced today. Van Ness succeeds Samuel Proctor, who was the first person named to the position when it was created in the 1950s and held it until he died in 2005.

UF cardiologist elected to prestigious medical groups

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Dr. Jamie B. Conti, a cardiac electrophysiologist and an associate professor of medicine, has been elected to the Association of University Cardiologists, an organization of 125 of the nation’s top cardiologists.
