UF students help with project to measure seismic activity across U.S.

UF’s tobacco-free policy succeeds in first year

Investigation finds equipment flaw, horse’s panic resulted in its death

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — A water rescue training exercise that led to a horse’s death earlier this year was an accident and resulted from the horse’s unexpected panic and a previously undetected flaw in the training equipment, an investigation by members of University of Florida’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee concludes.

Accepting her own challenge, businesswoman donates $1 million to create UF professorship in early childhood studies

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Entrepreneur Anita Zucker, a 1972 education graduate of the University of Florida, last year challenged fellow alumni who had never contributed to make an annual donation to the College of Education. Zucker, a 2010 recipient of UF’s Distinguished Alumni Award, sweetened the deal by matching such gifts dollar-for-dollar.
