Tickets now on sale for limited run of ‘Aida’

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The newly conceived North American touring production of “Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida” will make its Gainesville premiere in early January at the University of Florida’s Phillips Center. Based on the award-winning timeless love story from the classic Verdi opera, “Aida” is a new musical with Elton John’s modern pop score. Tickets are on sale now for the 7:30 p.m. shows on Jan. 5 and 6.

‘100 Years of Broadway’ coming to UF

GAINESVILLE, FL – “100 Years of Broadway,” a revue of the biggest songs from the biggest Broadway musicals of the last century, is coming to the Phillips Center at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 15. Tickets go on sale at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Naples charity donates millions to fund UF children’s dental clinic

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Thousands of disadvantaged children will soon benefit from a $5.5 million gift to the University of Florida College of Dentistry that will fund the construction and operation of a state-of-the-art pediatric dental facility in Collier County.

Harn’s newest installation features international contemporary art

Florida Museum exhibit features sandhill crane portraits

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Museum of Natural History will host “In the Open: Sandhill Crane Studies” by Gainesville artist Diane Farris beginning Dec. 14 and running through March 18.
