$6.1 million for athletic endowment announced at Gator Gala

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nearly 1,100 members of the Gator Nation celebrated 100 years of Florida football tonight at the Gator Gala, where it was announced that $6.1 million has been raised for the UF Athletic Endowment Fund from proceeds of the gala and other projects surrounding the centennial celebration.

New UF radio series gives gardeners Florida-friendly information

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Floridians with a growing passion for gardening and home horticulture will soon have a new source of help. Starting Monday, Oct. 2, University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences and public radio stations WUFT/WJUF will launch a new radio series, “Gardening in a Minute,” providing information from experts with UF’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.

Community Campaign director leaving after 13 years of success

In the 14 years Jim Morgan has been director of business services at the University of Florida, he has overseen a number of high-profile projects. Perhaps one of Morgan’s biggest projects has been one that is also closest to his heart: the UF Community Campaign.

Astronomy Department shines light on East Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — As part of an ongoing effort to reach out to the community, the University of Florida Department of Astronomy is hosting “Stars Shine on East Gainesville,” a celebration of art, science and culture, at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Joseph A. Williams Elementary School. The event is free and open to the public.
