Famed Indian dancer Uma Dogra to perform at University of Florida

GAINESVILLE — In an effort to showcase Hindu culture in the Gainesville community, UF’s Center for the Study of Hindu Traditions (CHiTra) has invited renowned Indian dancer Uma Dogra to perform at 3 p.m. Sept. 9 in P.K. Yonge Auditorium. Admission is $20 for individuals, $50 for families and free for students with identification.

Harn Museum reopens galleries with seven new exhibitions

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - For the last three months, the original galleries of the Harn Museum of Art have been bare of art, filled instead with painters, wood refinishers and carpet installers. That all changes on Sept. 5 when the doors to the original galleries are reopened with seven new exhibitions celebrating a year of milestones for the 16-year-old museum.

$1.1 Million PepsiCo Foundation grant supports family health self-empowerment project at the University of Florida
