Events aim to increase awareness of sexual assaults

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -– Renée Fleming, considered by many the “gold standard” of soprano, performs at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. A pre-performance discussion, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 6:45 p.m.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Spike Lee, award-winning producer, director, writer and actor will speak at 8 p.m. Feb. 1 in the O’Connell Center at the University of Florida. His visit is free and open to the public. Lee’s appearance is co-sponsored by ACCENT Speakers Bureau and Black History Month 2006. Doors open at 7 p.m.
UF Libraries will offer orientation sessions Jan. 17, 18 and 19 in Room 107 of the Marston Science Library.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Nancy E. Soderberg, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 18 in the Rion Ballroom of the Reitz Student Union, University of Florida.
