For the visually impaired, a better autonomous vehicle experience

For people who are visually impaired, self-driving cars seem like a perfect way to provide mobility and independence. But without the visual cues that sighted people receive while riding in an autonomous vehicle, it could be an unsettling experience. UF engineering student Julian Brinkley is creating software that can bridge that gap, and it’s already being tested.
