Dirty Heads are headed to the Phillips Center

March 27, 2015

UF Student Government Productions will host a free concert featuring the “cool, feel-good" sound of the Dirty Heads, on Wednesday, April 22, at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The concert will take place at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. This the second free spring show presented by SGP.

The Dirty Heads, who are from Huntington Beach, Cal., originally formed as reggae-rock-roots band, but today their sound is more influenced by alternative and hip-hop music. The group is mainly recognized for their singles “Lay Me Down” featuring Rome, “Stand Tall,” “Dance All Night” and “My Sweet Summer.”

The Phillips Center box office will open the day before the show, April 21, at noon; students are allowed to obtain two tickets each. If still available, tickets will also be sold on the day of the show at 5 p.m.

“The purpose of all SGP shows are to put on great concerts for a free or discounted price that we feel students will enjoy,” SGP Chairman Brad Wheeler said. He added, “The Dirty Heads are just another great artist that students have requested to hear and will really enjoy!”
