Bake the great American novel

March 27, 2015

Some books are so good that you devour them. Now, you have a chance to create a book that can literally be devoured.

On Tuesday, April 7, the George A. Smathers Libraries will hold their annual Edible Book Contest from 11 a.m. to noon on the Library West colonnade. UF students, faculty and staff, along with the community, are invited to submit an entry. The only rules are that the entries must be edible and are somehow related to a book.

Prizes will be awarded in five categories:

  • People's Choice (voted by the public)
  • Best Children's Book
  • Best Non-Cake Entry
  • Best Non-Fiction Book
  • Best Pun

Winners will be announced at 12:15 p.m., and entrants do not have to be present to win. Free cake will be served to everyone.

To enter the contest, please complete this submission form and bring it to the Library West Café area (across from Starbucks) between 8 and 10:30 a.m. the day of the event.
