FAU professor to speak on the Fulbright experience

The UF Fulbright Speakers Lecture Series welcomes Florida Atlantic University professor and Fulbright Ambassador Eileen Ariza at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The real life world of TV zombies
Go behind the scenes of AMC’s “The Walking Dead’” through the eyes of series photographer Gene Page and ears of soundman Robert “Max” Maxfield on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in Gannett Auditorium, 1064 Weimer Hall. The presentation will be hosted by the UF College of Journalism and Communications.

The inaugural Gator100 Awards will honor the UF alumni-owned or -operated businesses that have experienced the highest revenue growth over the past three years. The honorees will be recognized at noon on Feb. 6 at the J. Wayne Reitz Union’s Grand Ballroom.

Meet the beasts

“The Beast in the Book: Animals in Jewish, Christian, and Islamic Illustrations from the Middle Ages” will be on display in the George A. Smathers Libraries until March 6. The pieces on display – copies of the original works – demonstrate the faithful renderings of the original gold-leaf illuminations.

The exhibit will be on display in the Smathers Library Gallery on the second floor of the Smathers Library. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.
