WATER SURVEY -- Floridians remain concerned about water and are willing to make changes to conserve it, at least until their efforts cramp their lifestyles, according to an annual University of Florida study on state residents’ attitudes about this precious resource.

AGING IN PLACE -- Baby boomers trying to pick the best living arrangements for themselves or their parents as they age should be wary of a phrase they coined in their younger years: If it feels good, do it. So says Stephen Golant, a University of Florida researcher who studies housing needs for older Americans. In his new book, “Aging in the Right Place,” Golant argues that the popular notion of “aging in place” – staying home and being independent as long as possible – sounds great but doesn’t work for everyone.

UF-sponsored elections forum will explore voting reforms 

Experts from Florida and across the country will discuss streamlining elections to ensure greater voting integrity – and lower costs – at a public forum Friday, Feb. 20 at the Florida State Conference Center in Tallahassee.

Conference to address Holocaust justice

The Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Florida presents "Writing Retribution: Holocaust Justice and its Meaning," an international conference, on Feb. 21 and 22. Protecting young athletes from serious injuries
The UF Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute will host an all-day Safety in Adolescent & High School Sports Medicine Conference Feb. 21 at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center. The conference will focus on adolescent sports medicine and musculoskeletal injuries, especially concussions.
