Sheys partner with UF to create 657-acre conference retreat center

GAINESVILLE, Fla --- A prominent Gainesville-area couple who are longtime University of Florida supporters have committed to transfer their house and 657 acres of pristine conservation land to the university, allowing UF eventually to create a conference retreat center west of the campus that could host symposiums and other academic events advancing UF’s mission.

Flu shots for students postponed due to vaccine shipment delay

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The University of Florida’s Student Health Care Center has postponed its annual “Free Flu Shots” event scheduled for Sept. 19 due to a delay in vaccine shipment. The center will reschedule possibly in mid-October to get as many students as possible vaccinated before the Thanksgiving break.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The University of Florida College of Engineering’s future Innovation Nexus Building will add to its list of distinguished underwriters Subroto and Susmita Bagchi, who have announced a $1 million gift to UF. Their gift will be used to support the Engineering Innovation Nexus Building, a new facility to be located at the heart of UF, directly across from a newly remodeled Reitz Student Union.
