WWII expert to examine America's role

November 5, 2014

Best-selling author and journalist Lynne Olson will speak Thurs., Nov. 6, at 5:30 p.m. in Flint Hall Auditorium (Room 50) as this year’s Gary C. and Eleanor G. Simons Lecture in American History. The subject of the lecture is "Racing Against Time: Roosevelt, Churchill and America's Fight Over World War II."

Olson, the author of several books on World War II, will explore the debate over America's role in the war between 1939 and 1941. She’ll pose the question: Should the country forsake its traditional isolationism and aid Britain – then on the brink of defeat by Hitler – or enter the war outright?
