Students invited to pep rally in the Swamp

August 20, 2014

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida Alumni Association and the University Athletic Association are teaming up to host the first “Rally in the Swamp,” a student pep rally to be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium to welcome students to campus and prepare them for the football team’s season opener against Idaho on Aug. 30.

Student gates on the east side will open at 7 p.m. Prior to the event, students can play games to win prizes and the first 3,000 students will receive free Domino’s pizza. Opportunities for campus involvement will also be showcased.

The rally begins at 8 p.m. and will feature the Florida cheerleaders, Dazzlers, mascots, Coach Will Muschamp and members of the football team. Students will learn some of the great traditions that make Saturdays in the Swamp so special for the Gator Nation.

In addition, the Gator Ticket Office will begin student ticket distribution at the event, and 2014 student ticket holders will be able to pick up their 2014 Pepsi student section T-shirt.

Students are asked to join the "Rally in the Swamp" Facebook event and include #RallyintheSwamp in their social media images and posts.
