UF events of possible media interest listed

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The following events are scheduled in the near future at the University of Florida:

Trustees, search committee meetings

A joint meeting/conference call of the University of Florida Presidential Search Committee and the University of Florida Board of Trustees’ Committee on Governance starts at 4:30 p.m. July 8 in 123 Tigert Hall. There will be a meeting of the University of Florida Board of Trustees, also attended by the University of Florida Presidential Search Committee, immediately following that joint meeting, with each meeting continuing until completed. Historic marker to be unveiled

A Florida Historical Marker will be unveiled at 9 a.m. July 11 on the site of where Alachua General Hospital stood for nearly 82 years. It served generations of families in Alachua County before closing in 2009 and becoming the site for Innovation Square at the University of Florida. The ceremony will take place in Innovation Square Park, Southwest Fourth Avenue and Southwest Seventh Terrace.

Creative B offers wide range of events

Creative B activities bring culture, creativity and performances to campus during the summer B semester. They include a ritualistic public art installation, a four-week dance festival, an opportunity to learn about geocaching, art exhibits and two theatrical productions.
