Date of 'Chicago' performance changed, second show added

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A performance of the Broadway musical "Chicago" originally scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 a the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has been moved to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3.

Due to popular demand, there will also be an added second performance at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4. Customers who purchased tickets prior to July 4 will automatically have their tickets changed to the Feb. 3 performance. If they would like to attend the Feb. 4 performance instead, they should contact the Phillips Center Box Office to exchange tickets. If unable to attend either of the new performance dates, the Phillips Center Box Office will issue a full refund.

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, "Chicago" is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her crime into a barrage of sensational headlines.

ASL interpretation will be provided for the Feb. 4 performance.

 Tickets are $45 to $65 and may be purchased by calling the Phillips Center Box Office at 352-392-2787 or 800-905-2787 (toll-free within Florida). Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Phillips Center Box Office, or online at www.performingarts.ufl.edu. 

UF students may purchase $20 tickets (with a valid student ID) at the Phillips Center Box Office or by calling 352-392-2787. Non-UF students may purchase discounted student tickets (in the balcony) at the Phillips Center Box Office for select performances.
