UF events of possible media interest listed

GAINESVILLE, Fla. --- The following events are scheduled in the near future at or near the University of Florida:

Learn more about biotechnology

UF/IFAS will present Biotechnology Literacy Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 18 at Emerson Alumni Hall. The free event will include experts who will talk about genetic modification technology and its safety, effectiveness and role in the world’s food supply.

Art and environment dialogue

A program examining art that explores human impact on local and global environments will be held at 3 p.m. June 22 at the Harn Museum of Art, SW 34th Street and Hull Road. A tour of photographs and contemporary led by Harn curators will end with an open dialogue about experiences, perspectives and concerns related to the environment.
