UF and The Village launch program to help older adults improve brain fitness
WHAT: The University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions and The Village retirement community have partnered to offer UF Health Vitality Mind, a program dedicated to maximizing brain health in older adults.
The program provides residents of The Village and the community with cognitive assessments and interventions that are designed to improve mental functioning, mood and the ability to independently perform everyday tasks. Examples of these interventions include mindfulness meditation, computer training and exercise.
At the program launch on June 2, reporters will have the opportunity to tour the UF Health Vitality Mind facility, talk with UF researchers and participate in demonstrations of the brain health interventions. For more information on UF Health Vitality Mind, visit vitalitymind.phhp.ufl.edu.
