Commencement ceremonies to impact parking near O’Connell Center

May 1, 2014

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida employees and students who use parking lots near the O’Connell Center may need to seek alternate parking May 2 and May 5 because of commencement ceremonies at the O’Connell Center on those days.

The ceremonies are expected to draw high attendance during each day, which will impact availability in the O’Connell Center lot and garage. In addition, the O’Connell Center West parking lot (small lot next to McKethan Stadium) will be reserved for commencement ceremony use on both days. Drivers who normally park in these areas may need to seek alternate parking on these dates.

Green, Motorcycle/Scooter, and “Any Decal” parking restrictions are currently lifted until May 12. In addition, All Red/Red One parking restrictions will also be lifted May 5-12.  Areas designated with these decal restrictions will be available for alternate parking during commencements.
