ADDEDWARRINGTON GIFT

BEACH CHANGES  A modified computer model developed by University of Florida researchers helps coastal managers better understand the long-term effects of major storms, sea-level rise and restoration activities on beaches.

STERILIZED FLIES — Irradiated, sterile flies dropped over seaports around the world to mate with unsuspecting females save food crops and millions of dollars in prevented infestations and the ensuing eradication efforts. But they’re not always attractive to the females. Now UF has found a way to improve their effectiveness.

Thursday, Feb. 27

STATE SURVEY — Survey of Floridians about legislative issues such as Medicaid expansion, support for ACA, allowing undocumented students to receive in-state tuition, requiring Internet retailers to pay state sales tax, allowing Las Vegas-style gambling casinos to open in the state, and how to spend the state surplus.
