GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida Performing Arts recently added two performances to its 2013-14 Season – Iron and Wine at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28, and “Rhythm in the Night – The Irish Dance Spectacular” at 7:30 p.m. April 3. Both performances are at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets for Iron and Wine are on sale now, while tickets for “Rhythm in the Night” go on sale at noon Jan. 17.

Iron and Wine, also known as Sam Beam, is an American singer-songwriter with five albums to his credit. Rolling Stone said of Iron and Wine’s 2011 release “Kiss Each Other Clean,” “pop music hadn’t seen anything like it since the heyday of Cat Stevens.”

In “Rhythm in the Night,” Justin Boros – a former lead dancer with “Lord of the Dance” – stars in an epic tale of good versus evil told through Irish dance with a world-class troupe of dancers. Backed by an original soundtrack delivering an orchestral atmosphere, the production follows legendary hero Balor – played by Boros – who falls under the spell of a wicked seductress.
