Student tickets for January, February shows at Phillips now on sale

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida student tickets for 25 performances in January and February at the Phillips Center for Performing Arts, including three Broadway musicals, are now on sale.

Student tickets are $10 each for January and February performances, aside from the three musicals, which are $20 each.

Tickets may be purchased with a Gator1 card by calling 392-2787 or visiting the Phillips Center or University Box Office – O’Connell Center (Gate 1).

Broadway musicals during this on-sale period are “Rock of Ages” (Jan. 10) – a 1980s rock musical featuring classics like “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “The Final Countdown”; “Man of La Mancha” (Feb. 11) – the adventurous tale of Don Quixote; and “Memphis” (Feb. 21) – a story of forbidden love set in the underground dance clubs of Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s.

Fifteen-time Grammy-winning violinist Itzhak Perlman brings his unparalleled musicianship and virtuoso to the stage on Jan. 30, while vocal superstar Kathleen Battle performs “Underground Railroad, A Spiritual Journey” on Feb. 23.

UFPA continues to present the world’s best in dance with Complexions Contemporary Ballet (Feb. 1), Pilobolus (Feb. 18) and Stars of Flamenco (Feb. 26).

The slate of UFPA’s January and February performances spans virtually every genre including world (Soweto Gospel Choir, Feb. 4), jazz (Pat Metheny Unity Group, Feb. 6), classical (Buffalo Philharmonic, Feb. 12), celtic folk (The Irish Rovers, Feb. 14), a cappella (Take 6 Project, Feb 15-16), rock (THE HIT MEN featuring former stars of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Feb. 22) and much more.
