GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Here are the releases the University of Florida’s media relations office expects to send next week, subject to change:

Monday, Nov. 18
CARNEGIE MEDAL — The parents of a student and marching band member who died in a caving accident will receive a Carnegie Hero Medal for their son during a special concert Thursday.

SYNCARDIA – 16-year-old girl is the first patient (adult or pediatric) in Florida to receive the SynCardia Total Artificial Heart. The SynCardia heart is different from other ventricular-assist devices such as the Berlin Heart.
