Arts festival affects service on several RTS routes this weekend

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The 32nd Annual Downtown Festival & Art Show this weekend will force RTS bus delays, detours and temporarily closed bus stops.

Bus stop closures and possible delays for both Saturday and Sunday are listed below according to each route, and actual weekend bus detour routes are listed on the RTS website at www.go-rts.com.

Route 5

Normal route from Oaks Mall to Main Street, then detour to South Main Street to SE Fourth Avenue to Downtown Station. Detour reversed for trip from Downtown Station. Delays are expected with the detour route. Bus stops to be closed are Arlington Square Apartments, City Hall and the Bo Diddley Community Plaza.

Routes 1, 25

Normal route to Main Street, then detour to South Main Street to SE Fourth Avenue to Downtown Station. Detour reversed for trip from Downtown Station. Bus stops to be closed are Arlington Square Apartments and the Hampton Inn.

Route 15

Normal route to University Avenue, then detour to South Main Street to SE Fourth Avenue to Downtown Station. Detour reversed for trip from Downtown Station. Delays are expected with the detour route. Bus stops to be closed are City Hall and the Bo Diddley Community Plaza.

Regular service will resume on Monday.
