Pride parade prompts detours for several RTS routes Saturday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Regional Transit System will have detours on Routes 5, 6, and 15 between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 26 for the Gainesville Pride Parade.  These routes will bypass University Avenue between Southwest 10th Street and Southeast 1st Street.

Route 15 will detour its inbound trip from the Gainesville Mall.  It will turn east from North Main Street onto NE Second Avenue and go to NE Third Street, where it will turn south and continue to the Rosa Parks Downtown Station.  This Route 15 detour will be reversed for the outbound trips from the Downtown Station going to the Gainesville Mall.

Route 5 will detour its inbound trips from the Oaks Mall.  It will turn south off University Avenue onto SW 10th Street and go to SW Second Avenue and continue on Second Avenue to SE Third Street, where it will turn south and continue to the Downtown Station.  This Route 5 detour will be reversed for the outbound trips from the Downtown Station going to the Oaks Mall.

Route 6 will only detour its 12:40 p.m. departure from Plaza Verde (NW 23rd Avenue/NW 13th Street).  It will turn east off  NW 6th Street onto NW Eighth Avenue and go to North Main south to NE Second Avenue and continue on Second Avenue to SE Third Street, where it will turn south and continue to the Downtown Station.

RTS recommend users of Routes 5, 6, 15 and 27 plan accordingly so they will arrive at their destinations on time.
