Jazz, blues festival helps to kick off Homecoming week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida College of Fine Arts teams up with UF Homecoming to present Gator Jazz & Blues Fest from 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 at Flavet Field.

The live concert will feature jazz, funk, and blues performances from student, faculty and community bands.

The lineup consists of three bands.

Mindwalk – A contemporary music ensemble      sprinkled with funk, rock, latin, and jazz influences.

The R. Mutt Blues Band -  Performs driving, updated reinterpretations of traditional      blues classics  combined with soulful, passionate      originals that pay tribute to the  legacy of the blues genre.

UF Jazz Band – Entertains audiences with traditional and modern big band  arrangements.

Campus and community are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, lawn chairs and tailgating games. No tickets or reservations are required, and admission is free.
