Arts and writing workshops to be held for people affected by cancer

August 7, 2013

WHAT:
The UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine program is launching the Creative For Health Studio of weekly arts and writing workshops for people affected by cancer, including patients, survivors and caregivers. Participants will enjoy painting, sculpting, writing, dancing and singing in a fun and supportive environment. Artist-in-residence Dylan Klempner will lead the workshops and bring in artists and writers from the Gainesville area.

Earlier this year, the Arts in Medicine program received a $15,000 grant from the LIVESTRONG Foundation to participate in its Creative Center at University Settlement Outpatient Arts Program. The Creative for Health Studio workshops will be scheduled weekly through June 2014.
