Graduate housing residents to hold festival, fashion show

June 4, 2013

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — More than 100 residents of University of Florida Graduate and Family Housing are expected to attend the International Festival and Fashion Show at 6 p.m. Thursday at Maguire Village.

Residents will showcase their cultures at booths and with a fashion show complete with a runway, music and emcee.

“This event has become a Graduate and Family Housing tradition, and the attendance has grown consistently every year. Residents really enjoy seeing the fashions and artifacts, not to the mention the delicious food. It’s an all-around good program,” said Lesa Boykin, residence director for Maguire and UVS.

Trophies for the most creative, best national attire, best all-around and best model will be awarded in the adult and children fashion categories.

The International Festival & Fashion Show is sponsored by UF Graduate and Family Housing and the UF Mayors’ Council.

If it rains, the event will be held in the Corry Community Center.
