GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications will host two workshops for educators, business professionals and students as part of its “Summers @ CJC” continuing education series. Both sessions will be held in Weimer Hall on the UF campus.

“These courses are designed to teach participants to take full advantage of their digital video cameras and computer video editing to share marketing, stories, knowledge or research,” said Tim Sorel, two-time Emmy Award nominee and UF telecommunication assistant professor, who teaches in both workshops.

The four-day Adobe Video Production workshop, held May 6-9, will teach participants to use Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects to produce motion graphics and visual effects for film, video, multimedia and the Web.

The cost is $795 and lunch is included. Participants will use computers and cameras provided by the college.

The second workshop being held as part of the “Summers @ CJC” series is the four-day Digital Storytelling workshop that will be held June 24-27. Led by Sorel and UF faculty member Ted Spiker, this workshop is designed for participants to learn the basics of compelling storytelling and the skills to create multimedia/video productions using camera and computer.

The cost is $795 and lunch is included. Participants will use Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Suite 6 on computers and cameras provided by the College.
