February 27, 2013

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — University of Florida Performing Arts will present 13 performances in March, highlighted by a Chick Corea and Béla Fleck collaboration on March 20 and a free film screening of “The Last Flight of Petr Ginz” on March 28.

Corea and Fleck return to the Phillips Center – with a combined 34 Grammy Awards – for this historic duet between piano and banjo.

Free tickets for the screening of “The Last Flight of Petr Ginz” will be available at noon March 28 from the Phillips Center Box Office. The film highlights the life of a Jewish boy who wrote novels and short stories; produced drawings and paintings; and edited a magazine before perishing at Auschwitz.

The public can vote on which Beethoven program the Leipzig String Quartet will play by casting their ballot at http://bit.ly/TvSNUy. Voting closes March 11.
